With a little preparation and research, first-come, first-served (FCFS) campgrounds can be a great alternative to reservation-based campgrounds. They do require more flexibility and preparedness, but they can be worth it. Fun fact: During the off-season, some popular reservation-based campgrounds become FCFS.
